The common feature of all the Teleportel systems is the aligned eye-contact. The camera is virtually placed within the display area. As a result, participants do engage in eye-contact. Eye-contact is an extremely important and underestimated human communication quality. Eye-contact is the most ancient and ‘deepest’ communication cue of humans. Unexperienced telepresence buyers cannot really grasp the paramount importance of this because one has to experience the eye-contact or lack thereof to really understand and appreciate it. Simply speaking, the difference feels something like the pictures below. We will be happy to show you this during a life demonstration.
Teleportel offers two different technologies in telepresence. First of all, we can offer your our range of 3D-TPT : the 3D systems. The participants apparently appear in 3D. This requires certain inexpensive and simple adaptations to the room (color walls). The effect is mind-blowing and adds to the sense of presence.
Besides the 3D systems, Teleportel also offers the 'i2i systems'. These are 2,5D systems. There is a certain clearly visible depth in the image (that is why we call it 2,5 D) , but the 3D effect is not as strong as with the 3D-TPT systems.
Both the 3D and 2,5D systems are available in different sizes and the size determines the number of participants that can be part of the meeting, per location. This can vary between 1 and 20 participants. Moreover, the systems can be supplied including a ‘multi-pointing’ option. This will enable you to connect to 4 or 6 or 8 sites (depending on brand and type of codec).
3D TelePresence is a patented display technology. Teleportel does not manufacture its own codecs. The 3D TelePresence systems are codec-independent. As a result, any codec can be used with the systems. If you currently do have a codec of one of the following brands, you can simply purchase the ‘3D TelePresence rig’ and install your existing codec in this rig. For your specific situation, this may the best of both worlds because all these codecs are excellent products. What is currently missing in the systems you are using is the very strong sense of 3D-presence and the essential eye-contact. Now you can benefit from the benefits of your codec of choice but also of the unique advantages of 3D TelePresence. If you use any of the codec brands mentioned below, we can make the upgrade.
