VIO® Virtual Image Officer

In partnership with MBS in Belgium (Manpower Business Solutions – member of the global Manpower Group), an advanced 3D TelePresence solution is offered as an integral part of the Virtual Image Officer© (‘VIO’). The VIO © is a remote receptionist who provides live communication with a company’s visitors over distance, via a camera and a screen. But not just any screen. As with the other Teleportel applications, the receptionist will appear life-size, in 3D and with aligned eye-contact. All this, in combination with the absence of visible technology, makes the receptionist to appear as if she/he was physically present in the room. Sitting or standing behind the counter. This is not comparable to anything else you have ever seen.

The MBS VIO © service is an ‘all-in concept’; meaning that - for a certain monthly fee- the equipment, data lines and people are offered to the end-user. In one package. No hassle. Nothing to worry about. Thanks to the service, the customer never needs to look for replacements of his receptionist (holiday, sickness, leave, breaks, etc….) . MBS guarantees a professional, skilled and fully-trained receptionist at the customer’s front desk.

Besides realizing substantial savings (this is clearly less expensive than hiring and managing your own receptionists), the system offers many possibilities. Thanks to 3D TelePresence Reception system, receptionists can now welcome visitors in different locations in the building. The remote-receptionist, - located in a central call center – can appear live in front of the visitors, 24 hours/ 7 days. When a special language is required for an important foreign visitor, then that can be arranged too. In addition badges or other documents can be printed remotely and a picture of the visitors can be taken, including their time of entry in the building. Thanks to a digital sign-in screen, the visitor can register. Also documents can be scanned over distance.

The receptionist welcoming guests via the 3D TelePresence system is not a virtual computer animation, but a real, live, multi-lingual, specially trained and skilled professional communicating and reacting in a friendly manner and in real time. The VIO © is fully trained and has the necessary information to understand the environment where she/he is appearing, the ins and outs of the building and the people working for that particular customer. Just like all the Teleportel equipment, the 3D TelePresence Reception Desk uses videoconferencing codecs, but the appearance of the people is much more advanced than in the case of video conferencing or even ‘telepresence’ systems. The life-sized 3D reproduction, the aligned eye contact and the non-visible technology result in a very realistic and authentic appearance and – as a result - natural communication between the people at both sides. The visitor communicates with a person, not with a screen. This is the ultimate ‘human centric’ solution for any Front Desk or Reception Desk.

Moreover the Virtual Image Officer© can also deal with the customer’s telephone traffic remotely, and even open doors and print visitors’ badges. Access and identity control? All this is possible with one single system thanks to the synergy with Seris, the MBS partner in security.
